Outfit of the Day 23rd September 2012...

Yesterday I was out with my friends for the evening and got a few complements on my outfit so decided to do a quick post on it. My shirt is from warehouse and I just layered a black cami underneath because it is quite sheer! I then just styled it with topshop black skinnys and tucked my shirt in to add a little bit more of a polished look. I then just finished with a pair of loafers and there you have it my outfit was complete!

Review: Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion...

First of all I would like to start this post off with an apology, I have been pretty busy lately getting back to school and recovering from being ill and have let the blog drop down my list of priorities, which frankly has annoyed me (A LOT!), but posts should be back to normal again from this week to check back every couple of days for a new post.

anyway, on with the review...

For a long time I have struggled to find a nice body moisturiser that i could use daily as my skin is actually very dry and most moisturisers just are not moisturising enough, however when I saw this I assumed it would be a good solution to my problem.

What attracted me to the Clarins Moisture-Rich body lotion was the nice thick formulation that the cream had which I thought would translate into a non-sticky moisturiser, which was true but even the thick formulation only seemed to make a difference to my skin after the first use, so the second time I went to use the product it seemed to have had no effect whatsoever on my skin.

Another thing that I didn't enjoy was the fact that the Lotion left my skin still greasy so I have started only using this as a night-time moisturiser until the product is used up.

To be honest this product does moisturise skin and I would recommend it for those of you who are looking for a deep moisturiser if you have normal skin, however my issue is that the creams are not cheap and as I have previously loved Clarins moisturisers I'm not sure what is different about this one that for me just doesn't justify a repurchase...

Have you guys tried this moisturiser? What did you think?

Nail of the Day: September 6th 2012...

As school has now started again I am trying to get into more of a system with my blogging so that my posts can go up quickly and you guys have more regular posts throughout the week, which will mean more shorter posts like this as well as my usual reviews etc that will also go up. Any way with being back at school I have been trying out nail designs with more neutral colours that are suitable for fall and that I can get away with without looking out of place in a physics classroom! So that is how I came to the design above which I think is simple but also cute and a little different at the same time, and the look was created with the three colours below...

Rimmel london PRO in shade 378 'Posh Trash', Dior Venirs in shade 708 'Petite Gold Nugget', and a Nails Inc. polish that I'm not sure the name of because it has been scratched off

What are you guys wearing on your nails for fall?

A day out in London...

A couple of days ago I was up in London with my friend helping her with a  project and we decided to make a day of it. We started our day out in Hyde Park as it was a lovely day and then went on to Harrods and then Wholefoods before doing a cheeky bit of window shopping on High Street Kensington...

My Top 5 Fall Nail Polishes...

As the end of summer is finally reaching us I thought it would be appropriate to show five of my go to nail polishes for autumn/fall time, which I tend to go back to year upon year...

the first is Chanel's 'Rouge Noir', which is the perfect plumb/red, which makes it a beautiful polish to transition from the end of summer into autumn/fall...

Up next is Essie's 'wicked', which is more of a purple based colour than Rouge Noir but is equally as beautiful for this time of year...

The cheapest of my go to nail polishes is Rimmel London's PRO polish in 'Posh Trash' which I have previously featured in a nail of the day post but I think it gives a nice metallic neutral colour to the nail which is very easy to work with...

One of my favourites is Dior's 'Petite Gold Nugget', again a metallic polish, I think it just give a little more interest to the nails and a little bit of shimmer, which is a nice aspect to add into your fall manicure...

And finally is Nails Inc's Porchester Square, which is a lovely coffee colour and ends up being one of my go to polishes all year round!

So there you have it my five favourite nail polishes for fall! What nail polishes do you find yourselves going back to time and time again?

Fall Trends: Collared Shirts...

I thought for Fall/Autumn I would start a series of posts about fashion trends that are around for the season and I thought seeing as school is starting again for most of us I would start with the collared shirt. These have been in style for quite a few seasons now but they are hanging around for just a little longer, which to be honest I am very happy about seeing as they are pretty much the only fashionable thing that fits into my sixth form uniform! The great thing about these shirts is that they can be used to smarten up a super casual outfit or dressed right down and still look beautiful. So here are a few of my favourites that are on the high street for Autumn/Fall...

I picked up this shirt at Oasis for £65.00, which is pretty expensive for the high street but it is silk so I could justify spending a little bit more. The two things I really love about this shirt are the gold details on the top button and the cuffs, and the black collar which is actually pretty slimming as it brings the focus to the centre of the figure.

My second shirt is a little different, and also from Oasis. Again with gold button details this shirt has a very different collar but the cut of the shirt creates a slimming effect on the top half, which for someone who is very gifted in that area makes the shirt very flattering on. I also love the print of the shirt as I think its really cute and gives the shirt just a little bit more interest.

The final shirt is again from Oasis, and I know it looks like a pretty daunting print to have, BUT, when styled correctly this shirt looks so pretty and classy, and of course I was again drawn to its gold detailing, (maybe I like that a little too much), and again the black stripe down the centre creates a slimming effect when it is on, which makes it a really flattering shirt when on.

What do you think of this fall trend?

Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain...

To be honest when I first heard these lip stains were hitting the market I was a little skeptical about them as Clinique had already released the chubby sticks which I wasn't a massive fan of I didn't really think I would like Revlon's take on them.

However, whilst shopping in London a couple of days ago I was looking for a new red toned lip butter, which happened to be sold out and so I ended up choosing a lipstain instead, and to be honest I'm so glad I did because I now love them. The shape of the stick gives a very precise application and although the initial colour goes on very sheer, the colour can be easily built to create a nice opaque colour on the lips.

The formulation of the lip stains also feels very moisturising on the lips, and feels a lot more expensive than the £7.99 that the product costs. Another thing that surprised me about this product was how long it lasts on the lips as even after the sheen had gone, my lips were still stained with the colour so they never looked bear throughout the day.

And although I had been meaning to pick this product up for a while I did do my fair amount of swatching othe red lip sticks/stains before picking it up as you can see...

Also if you live in the UK these lip satins are actually currently on sale at Boots for £2 off so if you are thinking about testing one out I would recommend doing it now!

Have any of you guys tried these lip stains? What did you think?
