Festival Chic...
For this outfit I channeled my inner festival goer to pull together a simple casual outfit the exudes summer chic. I really am enjoying contrasting tribal prints at the minute and using bold prints to inject some colour into my outfits. I chose a dress as it it summery and easy to pull together and then just paired this with a denim shirt for an extra layer that is super light but stylish which is great for summer. I then chose mint green sandals but I would trade them for boots for the actual festivals. As far as accessories go I went with a tribal print bag and just some wrap bracelets, fairly simple but they really pull the outfit together and give it a slightly more polished look so that it can be worn out and about during summer as well as at the festivals..
What are you wearing to the festivals this summer?
How to style a Floral dress...
For this outfit I went with all bright accessories to really bring the outfit into summer and brighten it up. By pairing the minty dress with coral shoes and a coral jacket the outfit has summery colour blocking but is also still subtle enough to be worn easily without having to worry about going overboard with colours. To finish this outfit I chose a clutch with pastel colour blocking in it, but I think this outfit would also look beautiful with a tan or nude bag as it really just needs another tone to tie the whole outfit together,

How to style....Floral jeans
How to style....Floral jeans by rayray180496
Styling the floral jeans with a plain top and printed scarf is an easy way to wear this style without going to overboard with it. The plain top just gives a break between the two prints and stops them clashing badly and instead ties them together, As for accessories a simple bag with a bit of detailing, eg. fringing and some bangles that ties in with the floral theme are great. I also think that a nice bright nail works really well with this look and I like to finish it off with a nude/pink lipstick.

How to style a striped dress.....
For this style I went for a vintage/Taylor Swift kind of vibe because that seems to be popular at the moment. The main focus is the dress so I went with a dress that flatters most figures as it slims down the area below the waist. With this I also decided to style a floppy hat because, well it's summer time and everyone needs a stylish way to stay safe right!? Plus I think it really ties in well with the rest of the outfit. To top it off I went with a cardigan in a neutral colour along with a tan bag. I chose a cardigan instead of a heavier jacket because a heavy Jacket would be too warm but a nice cardigan is great for bringing an outfit from day to night in the summertime. As for the bag, this style of bag really ties in with the hat and dress so I just went with it but the great thing about the rest of the items in this outfit is that they would all go with pretty much any bag so you could just use your favourite bag of the moment. As for accessories I went with stacked rings but I think wrap bracelets would also tie this outfit together really nicely.

Mini Chanel Makeup Haul...
Today I was up in London shopping with my mum on a big shop and may have bought a few little makeup items so I thought you guys might like to see them...
The first item was a replacement for my finished Vitalumiere aqua foundation. This is easily my current favourite high end foundation because it so light on the skin which is ideal for summer, although it is VERY pricey it does tend to last me a while so I can justify spending a little extra.
Foundation is in shade Beige 10.
The next item was a Rouge Coco lipstick in the colour 117. It gives a nice nude/pink look to the lips which I'm loving at the moment. I really like how wearable this colour is on the lips for summer and although there are cheaper alternatives for the shade, I really think this is one of the best formulations on the market at the moment, it just feels so nice to wear!
Lipstick shade 117, Magnolia.
The last item I picked up was a nail polish in the shade 18, Rouge Noir. This nail polish was a really unique red-based purple which is why I picked it up, (after being enabled by my mum that is). The colour is really pretty and I'm now on the look out for a high street/ drugstore dupe so I can savour it!
Lastly, we went to lunch, (which is always important when on a big shop), which I wouldn't have added other than the fact the food was amazing. We went to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant just off Oxford Street and I would recommend it for anyone who is around that area because the lunch menu is pretty affordable.
I hope you enjoyed this post, what are your favourite products at the moment?

Summer Fashion 2012....no.1
So whilst revising lately I decided to start a series of posts about summer fashion trends and how I'm planning to wear them with items from my wardrobe. If you have seen my previous posts on how to style items of clothing it will be along the same lines but more everyday styles that you can wear on summer days out at home or just chilling with friends.
The two items I have used in these outfits are my cream wedges from ALDO and my tan vintage clutch. Always remember though you could always swap the wedges for cream wedges, or whatever colour you would prefer!

Outfit One:
For this outfit I went with a pair of orange shorts and a loose top for a subtle contrast with the blue in the wedges and just to give the outfit a little pop of colour. The cream top just keeps the outfit light and brings an element of sophistication to the outfit, which makes it a great a great outfit for dressing up as well as casually like this. As far as accessories go I would go with colourful wrap bracelets to keep the outfit more casual and summery.
Top: ZARA
Shorts: River Island
Shoes: ALDO
Bag: Vintage
Outfit Two:
Again the same shoes and bag have been used in this outfit but I decided to bring out the blue of the shoes with a checked (or plaid) shirt, and just paired this with a white cami underneath and white turnup shorts. This gives a little bit of a more casual/ boyfriendy (if that is a word) feel to the outfit which is great for summer time!

Nail of the day....12th June 2012
So, today it is yet another rainy day in England (no change there then), and whilst being at home supposedly 'revising' I decided to cheer myself up with a nice fresh home maincure. For this manicure I decided to keep it fairly neutral and fresh and chose my Nails Inc. London nail varnish in shade Lower Sloane Street Polish. This is a really great staple cappucino colour to have as it is so versatile and can be worn all year round pretty much. I normally go with two coats of polish just to give a nice opaque finish to the nail.
To mix it up a bit and make it a little more on trend I also painted a few nails my Dior vernis nail polish in Gold Nugget. This is a really great fine glittery nail polish that I LOVE at Christmas time but I took out today to just give my nails a little bit of sparkle. This polish goes on pretty opaque for such a shimmery polish and the reflex that it creates when the light reflects off it is really pretty, enough said.
Just a few close ups of the Dior nail polish...

How to style a lace dress....
For this style I decided to go with a nice neutral style using a cream lace dress and a neutral blazer and shoes, but I thought seeing as it is summer I would use a pop of coral accessories to really give the outfit a nice bright feel. I went with a clutch and wrap bracelets because both of these items can be easily used in a large array of outfits to give them a bit of a pop and one fairly small investment in them will keep you on trend all summer.

How I style....a mint green dress
Sorry for the delay between posts but I've been swamped by exams lately :(. Anyway I decided to pull together a few items to show how I would style a simple mint dress for a summer evening date or something like that. To keep the outfit light I went for a neutral blazer and pumps, but I do think that this would look great with more of a tan colour, black or even maybe a pink if you're in the mood for some subtle colour blocking.
I will be working on new sets for the next few days steadily so if you have any recommendations or requests for new sets that you would like then feel free to leave me a comment or tweet me (although I'm new to twitter and I currently only have one tweet....lame I know!)
Take care
