Fall Trends: Collared Shirts...

I thought for Fall/Autumn I would start a series of posts about fashion trends that are around for the season and I thought seeing as school is starting again for most of us I would start with the collared shirt. These have been in style for quite a few seasons now but they are hanging around for just a little longer, which to be honest I am very happy about seeing as they are pretty much the only fashionable thing that fits into my sixth form uniform! The great thing about these shirts is that they can be used to smarten up a super casual outfit or dressed right down and still look beautiful. So here are a few of my favourites that are on the high street for Autumn/Fall...

I picked up this shirt at Oasis for £65.00, which is pretty expensive for the high street but it is silk so I could justify spending a little bit more. The two things I really love about this shirt are the gold details on the top button and the cuffs, and the black collar which is actually pretty slimming as it brings the focus to the centre of the figure.

My second shirt is a little different, and also from Oasis. Again with gold button details this shirt has a very different collar but the cut of the shirt creates a slimming effect on the top half, which for someone who is very gifted in that area makes the shirt very flattering on. I also love the print of the shirt as I think its really cute and gives the shirt just a little bit more interest.

The final shirt is again from Oasis, and I know it looks like a pretty daunting print to have, BUT, when styled correctly this shirt looks so pretty and classy, and of course I was again drawn to its gold detailing, (maybe I like that a little too much), and again the black stripe down the centre creates a slimming effect when it is on, which makes it a really flattering shirt when on.

What do you think of this fall trend?

Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain...

To be honest when I first heard these lip stains were hitting the market I was a little skeptical about them as Clinique had already released the chubby sticks which I wasn't a massive fan of I didn't really think I would like Revlon's take on them.

However, whilst shopping in London a couple of days ago I was looking for a new red toned lip butter, which happened to be sold out and so I ended up choosing a lipstain instead, and to be honest I'm so glad I did because I now love them. The shape of the stick gives a very precise application and although the initial colour goes on very sheer, the colour can be easily built to create a nice opaque colour on the lips.

The formulation of the lip stains also feels very moisturising on the lips, and feels a lot more expensive than the £7.99 that the product costs. Another thing that surprised me about this product was how long it lasts on the lips as even after the sheen had gone, my lips were still stained with the colour so they never looked bear throughout the day.

And although I had been meaning to pick this product up for a while I did do my fair amount of swatching othe red lip sticks/stains before picking it up as you can see...

Also if you live in the UK these lip satins are actually currently on sale at Boots for £2 off so if you are thinking about testing one out I would recommend doing it now!

Have any of you guys tried these lip stains? What did you think?

How to style coloured jeans for Autumn/Fall #1...

coloured jeans #1

As summer is beginning to come to an end the weather in England is quickly turning cold again all to soon but it means I have been finding new ways to wear one of my favourite summer trends and styling them right through to winter. This trend of course being coloured jeans. For autumn instead of really trying to brighten the outfit and make it feel light I have gone with a deeper range of colours to pair with my jeans, like deeper neutrals and black in this case just to bring out the autumnal feeling in this outfit. I have also changed from pumps and sandals etc. into ankle boots, which is a style that I think makes the look seem more polished even if it essentially is just a jumper and a pair of jeans.

I hope this post gave you guys some ideas of how to style your coloured jeans into autumn/fall. What is your style for autumn/fall?

Travel Outfit...

So, these past few weeks I have been travelling around a lot working on a few different projects and have had very little time in between to repack my clothes and plan outfits, (and also blog!) so I have been using a pretty small capsule style wardrobe to get me through. Anyway with all this travelling I have gone through my fair share of travel outfits and have chosen my favourite to show you guys...

Outfit One:
Top: Abercrombie and Fitch
Jeans: Topshop
Bag: GAP

Outfit Two:
Top: H&M
Jeans: New Look
Bag: GAP
Bracelets: Pandora, Links of London
Ring: Bespoke

For both outfits I chose to finish with my beloved loafers, which have become my summer daytime shoe staple, especially as I have been on my feet for the majority of the past few weeks...

Shoes: Dune

What do you guys wear travelling? Have you been anywhere interesting this summer?

Review: Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie...

When the Revlon Lip Butters were first released onto the market there was a massive buzz in the blogging community with a large portion of beauty bloggers out there falling in love with the product and kick starting a little bit of a blogging trend. However, I decided to wait it out until the hype had gone down a little bit to give my opinion of the Revlon Lip Butters myself. To be honest, I do in fact LOVE them and am kicking myself that I didn't go out and get them earlier but there you go...

The formulation of the lip butters feels very moisturising on the lips and is a dream to apply. The coverage is sheer but can be layered to give a full colour to the lip which makes it a great lip product to have to switch you make up look instantly from daytime to a night time look. My favourite colour from their collection for summer has to be berry smoothie as it gives the lips a lovely raspberry colour and make your make up look polished and put together even if the rest of your face is fairly minimal.

They are also fairly inexpensive products selling for £7.99 in most drugstores in the UK, although in the US due to the conversion rate they are a bit cheaper which is a little bit annoying. But seeing as the price is the only thing that gets to me I have of course gone back and bought more after trying this colour, with all colours now being part of my summer make up. So much so that they are now staining my mugs...

Have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters? What did you think?

Words to Live by #2...

I decided to continue this mini series of quotes on my blog as my last post seemed to be fairly popular with you all...

'When I was 5 years old my mum told me that the key to life was happiness. When i went to school they asked me to draw what I wanted to be when I grew up, I put down "happy" and they told me I didn't understand the question. I told them they didn't understand life.'

'Wake up everyday with the thought that something wonderful is about to happen'

'There are far, far better things on the road ahead than the ones we leave behind'

Do you have any quotes that mean a lot to you?

Review: Benefit Coralista Lipgloss...

So a little while ago I went on a little make up shopping spree and posted a mini haul for you all on my blog. But as time has passed and I have used the products I have decided to give you a little insight into my opinion of the products I purchased starting with the coralista lipgloss. When purchasing this I was expecting a nice coral gloss for summer, but truthfully I have fallen head over heels for this gloss. It gives my lips a my own lip but better kind of finish and the gloss feels so moisturising and luxurious on my lips once it is applied that it has been my go to gloss from the day I purchased it. I have to say that this gloss did exceed my expectations as I was not expecting the nourishment that it gave my lips, which has been great for in the go as I have been using this instead of a lipbalm whilst I have been out during the day. So overall I have really enjoyed using this product as it is a totally wearable summer gloss that has been just what my lips need to give them that little bit extra on a summers day.

What are your favourite lip glosses for summer? Have you tried any of the Benefit range?

Words to live by...

I am the type of person that finds good quotes a huge part of the way I have found my way through harder times in my life and how I give advice to others that I love so I thought I would share a few of my favourites with you...

''True friendship isn't about being inseparable, no, it's about being separated and nothing changes''

''Life is like a piano, the white keys are happiness and he black keys are sadness, but as you go through life remember, the black keys make music too...''

''Life is known truly only to those who suffer, lose, endure adversity, and stumble from defeat to defeat''

What quotes mean something special to you?
